The Elk is OPEN for the 2014 Season!

After a great Ski year and some adventure that took us to  Crooked Island, the Mo, Henrys Fork, the Beaver Head, and the Big Horn, the Kootenay, and of course our Stillwater Lakes, we are now anticipating great season on the Elk and local rivers.

Crooked Island was once again a big hit!

The 2014 trip to Crooked was a huge success. We had some new participants as well as some returning anglers who all had a great time. The weather in the first week was a bit windy and we did have some over cast days but that seemed to bring out the bigger Bone Fish.

Expect Great Water in September !!

Water levels have settled, and so have the fish. October caddis are starting to hatch in small numbers but evidence of their casings are in the river. Watch the regulations as there are seasonalclosures on tributaries in the area specifically on the Wigwam and Elk.

Put that Nymph away....Its time for DRY FLY Fishing

We have been fishing all the big foam in the shop and for the past week it has been excellent!  Not a lot of natural hatches but PMD's on the lower river below town and Drakes hare seen poping off once in a while.
